Office of Employee Assistance and Wellness
For NAU Staff & Faculty Only

Tuesday, October 12 and October 19, 2004
8:30 am - 10:00 am

As a caterpillar weaves a place of rest and safety, surrounding itself with a cocoon, so we humans wrap ourselves in our personal stories. Though our story is essential as a vehicle for growth and change, at some point the cocoon can become a coffin. The story that was woven no longer fits. This two-part workshop will give you the structure and method to take a look at your own story, the story of you,and begin to understand:(1) why this particular story and none other, (2) how the story you tell yourself both energizes and limits you, (3) the outlines of a new or revised story, and (4) the possibility of a story of no story.

Seminar:
Leader capabilities | Content and Applicability | Atmosphere

Seminar Leader Capabilities

• George was one of the most informed and interesting presenters I have observed in more than 20 years of professional workshop attendance. His depth of understanding about spirituality and ability to communicate this understanding in helpful ways is remarkable.

• He created an atmosphere in which a person could gain in trust, and feel positive about self, which made one more receptive to learning.

• A master psychologist with a great sense of humor.

• George’s energy is wonderful.

• I appreciate your humor, gentleness and wonderful, generous energy. Thank you for an energizing day, instead of an exhausting day.

• Masterful teacher – thank you!

• As I heard three others say to me, “He walks his talk.” He models what he teaches. I especially enjoy being encouraged to share what we learn rather than hold on to it.

• George’s manner was engaging, light hearted and humorous and his presentation well-organized.

• A fine and extremely engaging instructor.

• Very sincere, relaxed, together person which helped me to get the same way.

Seminar Content and Applicability

• Well done! Good use of activities to promote understanding of abstract concepts. Thank you!

• Good written materials. Practical experiential work.

• Well-conceptualized program.

• Excellent handouts.

• Good combination of experiential and didactic.

• He has combined the practical with the spiritual into one workable way of life.

• Thorough fusion of principles of psychology, physics, spirituality, and martial arts. Excellent practical examples involving the mind, body and spirit simultaneously.

• I really appreciated the practical applications that Dr. Breed presented.

• Well put together. Great subject matter. I want more.

• This workshop was very insightful. It has given me some very useful tools that I will put into practice at once.

Seminar Atmosphere

• I liked the pace, the information, the atmosphere and the respect given to others by George.

• A most wonderful learning experience of which I shall incorporate as much as I can into my life. Most enlightening.

• I particularly like the way positive interactions seem to naturally flow in these workshops.

• Strong positive impact/ influence on immediate lives of participants

• Fun, engaging, relaxing, wonderful.

• Liked how the presenter engaged participants in activities.

• This is truly a teaching of compassion.

• I liked the ease and warmth George created in the workshop. It was non-threatening and loving. I feel that he lives it.

• This was the best and most enriching seminar I’ve been to in a long time. Thank you!
